It's a Twinderful Life

Looking For the Silver Lining in All of Life's Clouds

friendship in marriage.

Happy (Good) Friday everyone! It’s been a while! Just wanted to drop a line to let you know that we are still alive and kicking over here.

I wanted to share this article about why friendship, more than romance, leads to a happy marriage. Fantastic short read! Steve and I started out as friends and then became best friends before we let the romance in and I can truly say that I agree that friendship in a marriage makes everything better.

Also, Happy Easter/Passover/Spring Equinox (and whatever else you might be celebrating)! I hope that your plans for the weekend involve lots of family and relaxation. We celebrate Easter here and I am so grateful for what this holiday represents to me.

And finally, to end this random post, a picture of the beautiful Scarlett. Her cheeks are getting more squishy everyday and I can hardly STAND it!

Marriage Advice

Hello friends!

I came across this article today and thought it was awesome! If you’d like to hear one woman’s take on how to stay not only married, but happily married for at least 15 years, then you should definitely take a peek. I’d be shocked if it didn’t make you chuckle (or at least smile) and reevaluate what you can do to make your relationship with your significant other even better.

Have a fantastic Thursday!

For those about to rock, we salute you!

And boy did we get our rock on last night (thanks AC/DC). We completed Phase 1 of our “Repaint the kitchen cabinets so that we can sell this place” project, and we did a fine job if I do say so myself. Here’s a Phase 1 breakdown for you:

  • Remove all cabinet doors and hardware
  • Sand said cabinet doors and remaining cabinature (is that even a word? It is now…)
  • Wipe down everything (as you can see from the forthcoming pics we had lost our steam at this point (a.k.a. I was in an extremely irritable mood and just wanted to go lay down with my pups in bed and my husband is a saint and said we could do it on Friday)

Phase 2 commences tonight with a trip to IKEA with Bre for some cabinet organizers, paper, etc. I’m not really sure that shopping at one of my favorite stores should be considered a “project phase,” but to make me feel better and more productive we’re going to call it that.

Phase 3 will start on Friday night after work and includes going to Lowe’s for the primer, paint, and supplies, and putting the first coat of primer on. We’re going with a beautifully clean and room-opening white.

Phase 4 kicks off on Saturday morning when Bre comes over and helps us apply the coats of paint (Miah would come but he’ll be representing at a Youth Conference). We’re hoping it only needs one or two coats because the primer has represented done its job).

Phase 5 – A BBQ celebration up the canyon with BreMiah and a few other friends.

Phase 6 – After the cabinets have dried we put everything back in the cabinets, rehang the cabinet doors, and sit down to sip a cool glass of lemonade.

And there you have it, our Project Outline as well as our weekend schedule. I’ll be excited when it’s all done. 🙂

Here’s one side of the kitchen

And the other side (not sure why this pic is so blurry…hmmm…)

And, just for good measure, my cute little Porsche pup, ready for bed (like her mommy)

BTW if you want even more random pics of what’s up around here make sure to follow us on Instagram. Bre’s username is twinderfullife and mine is braqmoore. Enjoy!

What are your weekend plans? Any fun projects going on around your place? How about eating delicious BBQ ribs with friends? We’d love to hear all about it!
